Career Counselling
Career is the entire life span which starts right after the child’s birth. It covers all activities at pre-school stage, in the school life, and what you are anticipating during rest of the life in universities and work. Whether it is your professional or the family life every thing will move around the career.
Career planning is like a planning for the final match that you have to win and there is no retake. Those who leave themselves on the strokes of luck and receive what comes to their way are on a greater risk than those who assume their career as an asset and build it in such a way that it can firmly and graciously reach the entire life span.
Learners in high schools must develop a permanent contact with career counsellor. Career counsellor is an expert who provides guidance to choose the right career path. Career counsellor writes a detail profile of the student which identifies the gap between the potential and desired career path. Career aptitude profile is developed after investigating hidden and known characteristics of one’s personality, the strong interest areas, motivation for the specific profession/career, and the latent abilities to do the things. Choosing the right career can be difficult, but having a defined career direction is a pivotal step towards shaping your future. It involves some planning and serious self reflection to set oneself on a path towards a fruitful fulfilling career.
The first step in career planning is to reflect on the following questions:
- Who you are?
- What do you like to do?
- What can you do?
- What stops you to reach the goal?
- Where to start?
Our expert model is based on the GROW model of coaching psychology, developed by Graham Alexander and Sir John Whitmore in the 1980s. One-to-one coaching sessions to identify the career goals, and process to achieve these objectives are the vital elements in the model. During the process our career counsellor will act as a coach and take the candidate through the process to know cognitive strengths and weaknesses, attitude, strong interests areas, skill inventory, and options to find way out.
We help students in high schools for the effective and efficient management of the career. Candidate receives complete support during and after the career planning process. After developing career aptitude profile of the candidate, we extend advise and support in the following areas.
- Higher education entry requirements
- Job market
- Work environment
- Nature of job
- Growth potential
